Under California law, retailers must now charge customers a “Covered Battery-Embedded (CBE) Waste Recycling Fee” at the time certain merchandise (like a battery-powered watch) is purchased. We are transitioning our systems and, until our processes allow us to specify and collect this recycling fee directly from customers during covered sales transactions, our company is paying the recycling fee on behalf of customers for any covered purchases.
