Raffia Brimmed Hat With Scarf

Looking at the photo of this wide brim straw hat, one would think that it's a structured flat brimmed hat, but it's not. It actually has contours and curves like a floppy brim hat. Not as deep as a floppy brim because the hat is mainly structured, but yeah, the subtly of a floppy brim is there and I love it. I have a small head, so no complaints about it being too small or too tight. My complaints however, and I don't hold it against the hat, is that I wish the silk scarf was stitched closer to the brim (seam), you can see in the pics it's not. I though I received an irregular item until looking back at the pics. And most importantly, that of retailers selling hats for mail delivery and not packing them in the proper packaging which is exactly what happened here. The hat, which was wrapped and placed in a plastic bag, was stuffed diagonally (optimizing space I guess) in a box too small and as with any packaged item during shipping, the hat tried to straighten or level itself and settled to the bottom of the box, squishing (creasing) the brim. Also the top of the hat, where your head goes, was not stuffed which helps to retain the integrity of the shape while being shipped. After working with the hat some time (which I shouldn't have) I was able to straighten the brim back like it should be, not 100%, but close. If this hat was completely structured, it would have been ruined from the packing. Recommend the hat❤️, but because of this experience with the packaging, wouldn't order another wide brim. Expected better from coach, don't care if the shipping is free.
